Founded in 1974 by Raymond Ouellet, Ouellet Doors & Mouldings is a Baie-Comeau business that stands out for its craftsmanship and premium-quality products. At the beginning, Ouellet Doors & Mouldings sells through retailers and directly to the public. Kitchen solid wood doors and cabinets are directly installed in the client's home.
In the middle of the 1980s, the second generation takes over the family business and the company heads for growth. Massive investments and a factory modernisation mark this period, bringing about a facility expansion. Hence, starting in 1991, Ouellet Doors & Mouldings acquires more sophisticated equipments that insure a better working environment for employees while increasing production. Among others, a moulder and adjoining land for the new building additions that house the new equipment are part of the acquisitions.
In 1996, procedures to obtain ISO certification start leading to a ISO 9002 certification in 1999. A second expansion phase takes place, and the factory goes from 14,000 sq.ft. to 30,000 sq.ft. Production capacity is thus increased to better serve Quebec, New Brunswick and Eastern Ontario.
In March 2006, Premoule acquires Ouellet Doors & Mouldings, which becomes the network’s 7th manufacturing plant. Premoule is a North American leader of moulded laminate countertops, thermoplastic doors, 5-piece doors, accessories and finishing. With Ouellet Doors & Mouldings in the ranks, Premoule continues getting a broader product portfolio to offer global solutions to its clients.
